Creativity knows no bounds. Established in 1982 and now organized by the Society, this annual convention brings together our community for a weekend of inspiration and fun. Discover new ideas, make lasting connections, and celebrate the power of speculative fiction.

Through BayCon, our annual convention, and grant & scholarship programs, we foster a diverse and inclusive community. Brand New Voice Grant

Empowering young talent (18-25) with financial support to explore and enhance their speculative fiction writing skills.

Goal: $5,000

Voice of the Global Majority Grant

Supporting unpublished BIPOC writers by funding essential resources to help bring their speculative fiction stories to life.

Clarion West Scholarship

Offering a scholarship for one aspiring author to attend the prestigious Clarion West workshop, this program provides an opportunity to hone writing skills and connect with industry experts in speculative fiction.
